Back in March 2020, in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government put a pause on student loan repayment. Now that the pause is over, a national pizza chain is offering a free pizza to those who have started making student loan payments again. Here’s what to know.

What to know about the pizza giveaway

From now through Thursday, November 9, Domino’s will be giving away a minimum of 4,200 free pizzas each day to anyone who has to resume paying off their student loans. Over the course of this special offer—which began on October 25—Domino’s will dole out 67,205 pizzas, which would otherwise cost a total of $1 million.

To clarify, this is not the same thing as Domino’s Emergency Pizza program, and yes, it’s possible to receive a free pizza from each program.

How to get a free pizza from Domino’s

Each day, the free pizzas are given away on a first-come-first-served basis. If they’re gone by the time you attempt to claim one, you’ll see a message instructing you to try again the following day.

In this case, the day’s offer period begins at 12:00:01 am ET and ends at 11:59:59 pm ET, or when all available pizzas have been spoken for (whichever comes first).

In order to be eligible for the free pizza, you must be at least 18 years of age, and a “legal U.S. resident physically residing in the 50 U.S./D.C.,” according to the company’s rules.

Here’s what to do:

  • Visit this website, and if the day’s pizzas haven’t already been claimed, fill out and submit the online form.
  • Shortly after submitting the form, you should receive an email asking you to verify your email address (so you can’t use fake email addresses to get more free pizza).
  • Once you’re verified, you’ll receive an email from confirmation@dominosemergencypizzaforstudentloans.com with your coupon code, and instructions on how to redeem it on the company’s website or app.

Then, when you’re ready to redeem your code:

  • Place an order via the website or app for a medium 2-topping pizza, and click “Add to Order.”
  • Proceed to your cart and select “Have a coupon or promotion code?”
  • Enter the code and select “Add.”
  • Select “Continue Checkout” to complete your order.

The coupon code is valid until Sunday, December 10, 2023.

A few more details to keep in mind:

  • There’s an upcharge for handmade pan pizzas.
  • If you’d like the free pizza to be delivered, you have to meet the store’s minimum for delivery.
  • The usual delivery charges will apply.
