A “Vastra Samhita” or gown code was launched at 4 temples in Nagpur metropolis on Friday, an affiliation of temples in Maharashtra mentioned.

Devotees shouldn’t put on “objectionable” garments, he mentioned, including that the choice was taken after a gathering of the Maharashtra Temple Belief Council in Jalgaon in February.
“The first goal is to guard the sanctity of temples. Such codes are in place at many temples,” Mr Ghanwat claimed.
He would additionally request Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to implement the code at temples managed by the federal government, he mentioned.
