Following the heavy floods which have hit northern Italy, significantly Emilia-Romagna, France has provided its help to the Italian authorities.

At their assembly in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the G7 summit, President Macron expressed to the Italian Prime Minister, Ms Giorgia Meloni, France’s solidarity with the folks severely affected by the floods.

On this context, France is offering Italy with a high-capacity water-pumping module that may be capable of cope with greater than 5,400 cubic metres per hour. The module is at the moment being deployed to the affected areas. It is going to be operated by a 40-strong specialised unit of the armed forces emergency companies (FORMISC).
