Burnett returns as Guelph Storm basic supervisor – Guelph


The Guelph Storm are bringing again their basic supervisor.

The OHL membership introduced on Monday that they’ve agreed to phrases with George Burnett on a contract extension by to the tip of the 2025-2026 season.

“George’s success over the previous six years with the Storm speaks for itself,” stated Storm associate and president of Hockey Operations Scott Walker in a information launch. “The possession group of Joel, Jeff and myself acknowledges that George’s dedication to our gamers, our group and our league make him the best selection. It was a simple resolution to increase his contract.”

Burnett was first employed in 2017 because the group’s head coach and basic supervisor. He stepped down from head teaching duties previous to the beginning of the 2022-2023 season and centered solely on the overall supervisor function.

Burnett has spent the final 26 seasons with 5 organizations (Oshawa Generals, Niagara Falls, Belleville Bulls/Hamilton Bulldogs, Flint Firebirds, and Guelph Storm). He helped lead the Storm to an OHL championship in 2019.

“I respect the arrogance that the possession has proven in me to proceed to steer the Storm Hockey Membership,” Burnett stated. “As a workers, we sit up for the problem of constructing off a powerful second half this previous season for the unbelievable followers right here in Guelph.”
